Universities on strikes in France

During the past months, french universities have been on strike as a reaction against the government’s decision to slowly privatise superior education.

In order to physically block unis, students throughout the country have erected, often on a daily basis, amazing installations made out of chairs. I can’t help seeing it as an echo to Eugène Ionesco’s theatre piece The Chairs, in which chairs invade the stage, proliferating at an alarming rate, as in a nightmare.
